Will McLemore
I run McLemore Auction Company in Nashville and build practical systems for auction operations, valuation, automation, and expert witness work. I care about tools that remove repetitive work and leave more room for judgment.
Background
I built our platform from scratch. It handles everything from intake to invoicing, and I'm still pushing it forward — AI-written descriptions, automated valuations, intelligent routing, and systems that absorb the thousand small tasks that eat up an auctioneer's day.
Before this I worked across industrial, real estate, and fine art auctions — enough range to know how differently each one actually runs. Yale taught me to read carefully and write clearly, which matters more than people think.
"Automate yourself before someone else does."
The Work
what pays the billsFor the love of it
nights & weekendsA searchable atlas of Neo-Assyrian bas-reliefs from Ashurnasirpal II's palace at Nimrud โ slabs scattered across the world's museums, mapped back to the rooms they came from. โ
Ambient music discovery that lives in your menubar. Five discovery strategies, learns from a thumb. โ
A researched timeline of the moments that shaped Nashville โ sit-ins, disasters, a question that changed the South. โ
Writing
one per bookReading reports. I write one after I finish a book โ less a review than an argument with it. First up: why Bobby Knight succeeded despite his volatility, not because of it.
Current Focus
right nowExpert Witness
Building a focused auction-industry expert practice around standards, valuation, process, bankruptcy-related sales, and operational context.

Systems that write descriptions, research values, route customer inquiries, and handle the thousand small tasks that eat up an auctioneer's day.
